We Are Hot Chicks Wednesday: All A's, All the Time

All hogwash and buffoonery aside, the House of Georges has got to hand it to the students out there that have hammered out another semester of sleepless nights, cram sessions, and tireless lectures. The ides of May are in fact upon us, and thus, we must commend those who've achieved success, in its varying fashions, in this classroom this year. We feel we're qualified to do so, given that we too were once students, and to a degree, still are (our realm now belies some apish sports-contest staring, and fantasy jabber). Though students of many topics and institutions we have been, Rhodes scholars status, surprising as it may sound, was a level of which we, on occasion, fell shy. Yes, our piles of mail offering full rides and schola'-shee-ups, were but last slices of pie that always somehow vanished from the 'fridge before we could get our measty mitts upon them. We have known the proud recipients of such delectable desserts, however, and today, a mere click away, we turn our tassles and toss our caps to those who've graced the honor roll pages of academia.

Arika

This lovely one-name wonder fought insomnia and chilly studies to make the grade.

She is most deserving of a hug, even if it comes from her bright little self.

Whitney Able

The dormitories of Miss Able's residence offered the most peculiar arrays of furniture.

She was frequently forced to spread out on the floor, the sofa, and, on occasion,

study standing in front of rod iron gates? 'Twas a pity, indeed.

Ashley Anne

Ashley Anne was even less fortunate. Absorption of her academics had to occur without walls, and, on some occasions,

clothing. How she managed is still beyond our intelligences.

Alana Cragin

Alana, too was cast into the ferocious outdoors to soak up some knowledge.

What's worse is that she has, on occasion, been forced to sell scraps of clothing to fund her textbook purchases.

Makes one curious how students have any more than the ink skin on their backs.

Adele Silva

Miss Silva, through thick and thin, has been an all-smiles trooper.

Baring full course loads, she's taken on full-time work as a housekeeper,

and even delved into some theater work, just have some food in her pantry.

Angelina Jolie

Angelina, we all know, has been a student of a different portfolio.

Through self-education, she's learned the ways of doing what's right for the babies. And the Billy Bobs. And the other boys. And probably a few girls.

Adriana Karembu

Miss Karembu opted for the study-abroad variety of schooling, which hasn't been easy.

For sustinence, she's had to comb the beaches.

And for utilites savings, she's had to share the tiniest of tubs, and bathwater to boot, with her college roomies. Imagine the suffering!

Adrienne Manning

Adrienne Manning goes along with the rest of the thankless. She's offered one-time tutoring sessions that have spared the red marks on many a paper, while subjecting her back to many a red wicker mark.

Nicole Aylward

The hard-working Nicole went the traditional route of hospitality service while booking it.

She's slaved countless hours while enrolled, all in an effort to get that diploma.

And she was a role model for school spirit for the duration.

(There're so many people we'd like to thank for helping us get through this, but for posterity's -- not G.P.A's -- sake, we'll keep it -- Gorilla Masks and Daily Niners -- to a minimum.)
