Baseball in the Daytime: 9-11-08

One lone matchup again this afternoon, and it doesn't hold much in the way of excitement beyond the fact that it's an afternoon baseball game. It's getaway day in the twin cities, though, and we've got the classic case of division rivals; one's trying to win the division, while the other tries to figure out just who the heck they are. One or two details, after the jump.

Kansas City @ Minnesota, 12:05 (Central): Today at the dome, it'll be Brandon Duckworth taking on Francisco Liriano. Neither guy has been around to often this season, so their stats aren't necessarily worth mentioning. Suffice it to say that the Royals have been outscored 14-3 in the opening two games of this series, and don't promise much win-wise in today's contest either. The Twins continue to chase Chicago, who seems to win every time MInnesota wins, and lose when they lose. Who knows how this AL Central will wind up, other than disappointing for KC fans. Catch the game on DirecTV 738.
